| Is there any difference between Colt LE6920s made during the AWB vs LE6920s made after the AWB lifted? My barrel is dated 10/99 is that just for the barrel or does that indicate the rifle was made during this month and year? |
| I can't tell you about your particular rifle, but I can tell you that there are only two or three states where the build date means anything anymore. The serial number on your lower could possibly tell you when that part was made, but I'm not sure if Colt gives out that information. |

Quoted: So it's safe to say that other then a few marking and the stock. A LE6920 is a LE6920? Kinda....There have been many variants over the years. The newer ones now have M16 bolt carriers, there are black ones, green, and FDE. Newer models can have Magpul furniture and flip up sites. |

The rifle may have been made that same month, or months later; depends on how long the barrel sat on a rack waiting to get assembled to a rifle. The "born-on" date on the VCI bag will tell you the date of rifle manufacture. A 6920 made during that period will have large (.170") hammer and trigger pins, unlike the current rifles which have standard .154" pins. It will likely also have a half-circle carrier. Those are the main differences, other than the variations already mentioned. |
