I had a thread on here (it is gone now I think) about me thinking about getting a machine gun or two. Well, I never pulled the trigger, until now. My dad's friend is willing to sell me a never shot, one owner (bought by him new in '84 and has the ATF paperwork to prove it) MAC-11 .380. He has sent me pics of it and even scanned his paperwork to prove it is legit. My dad showed him it is worth about $4000, but he told him that he would take $1500 for it. I decided that $1500 for a transferrable machine gun is too good a deal to pass up. He is also willing to take payments so my current collection doesn't have to suffer. Trust me, I know it sounds too good to be true, but it isn't. My dad has known this guy for about 15 years and works with him and knows the guy isn't a scam artist or into anything illegal. He is just giving us a buddy deal. Anyhow, I was told that since we are in the same state, I don't need to go through a dealer. Anyone know of anywhere with conscise and clear steps and instructions on how it can be transferred to me (and give the feds their $200)? I would like to go the trust way as it sounds like the best method now, plus I can see me getting more class III toys down the line and I would like my brother and father to be able to use it without me if they want (just add them to the trust). Thanks in advance. |
That's what I paid for my M-11/9 back in 2003. You'd be a dumbass not to take the deal, even if you ended up never shooting the thing! Just sit on it for a few years and dump it for a truckload of cash. MGs are a better investment than the stock market right now... Why do these friggin' sweet-ass deals always happen to people I know, but never to me? |
Oh, I am taking it. That isn't the question. |

I can't personally answer any questions about corporations or trusts, as I went the individual route. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=17&t=199942 |
