you have to be 21 to purchase a handgun from an FFL you have to be 18 to purchase a handgun from a private party (I think. It's possible that you may be able to be younger) open carry is legal (except for certain city ordinances) so it doesn't even have to be in a case |
I'm not sure about open carry for those under 21. Just to be safe I would suggest he put the pistol in an obvious pistol case unloaded and throw it in the trunk. |
