Years ago, one of my buddies did something similar and shot his TV with a 22 revolver.  I told him I would have paid $100 to have been there just to watch the expression on his face go through the following:

1.  GEEZUS, it was loaded.
2.  Damn, that was loud
3.  OH SHIT, that was a $400 TV..Oh No.
4.  Oh, damn, no TV till next payday.

Violation of 2 firearms rules at the very least:
1.  Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
2.  Don't point your firearm at anything you don't intend to shoot/destroy/kill.

Trigger finger out of trigger guard,
Be sure of target and beyond are both open to debate.
