Today was a horrible day. We had to put our best friend down.
On Friday we took her to the vet bec. she was having trouble breathing, the diagnosis was terminal lung cancer.

So we took her to the place that she loved best on Saturday.(Pt. Defiance park on the beach)

We took this picture on the way home from the June LCR.

For some reason she seemed to have alot of fun with the arftards.
If anyone has any pics. of her at the LCR's would you please post them here.

Tribute To A Dog

The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog.  A man’s dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness.  He will  sleep on the cold ground, where wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master’s side.  He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world.  He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince.  When all other friends desert, he remains.  When riches take wing and reputations fall to pieces, he is constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens.

                                 â€“––– Senator George Vest, 1870

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

If more would strive to be the man their dog thinks they are, the world would be a much better place.

You have my deepest sympathies!  I have been through this not too long ago.  Now, we have a wonderful little guy that is helping me get through it.  He is up on my leg right now looking at me.  I just can't imagine life without a canine friend to share it with!  Good luck, and wonderful, bittersweet memories to you!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to
someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can
run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored
to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each
miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when
one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent;
His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying
over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted
again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the
beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry brother, words can't help just know there are others that feel your pain.  If you have a dog you have felt the pain, they are family.  Actually better than most family.

It's been nearly a year since we lost our girl.  I miss her to this very day.

I still look for her to run and greet me when I come home from work. The pain fades but the memories are strong.

May you find peace in knowing you did not let her suffer.
