My local BWW closed its doors for good just before Thanksgiving.  Now how far will I have to travel in order to purchase my beloved, yet too-lightly sauced, spicy chicken wings and over-priced draft beer while being inundated with at least a half-dozen sports events on large, loud TVs of which I could not care less about?

Thankfully there are still plenty of BBWs here in Ray's Town.

Oh hells yeah! Their lunch menu is good & cheap.  As a bonus they have a VERY cute girl with ample bosoms working the register most afternoons and weekends.  Though, in typical fashion, she could be aged anywhere from 18 to 80.

Curiously, just today I received an email inviting me to come watch college basketball while enjoying my favorite signature sauce on their amazing wings, along with my favorite beverage, at my now-closed location.  I think the fuckers are just trying to rub my nose in it.

Indeed.  I didn't notice the sign at Union Station until I exited the building. Then I thought WTF, why would Union Station be posted no CCW?

most likely the building owner spiked thier rent.  same reason custards closed in the new (old) shopping center, why custards on 291 moved across the hiway, dixon's chili in LS closed, etc.

The owner did spike the rent on those buildings, the ole lady used to work at the Jones hair salon there and he was upping the lease at least $800 a month for every year they were there.  Dixon's didn't have a chance, nor did Southview Vision, the McCoroys will be fine with Gommers there.  I had no clue about bdubs closing in the Ray-raytown until I went to Hyvee for some Shiner tonight, I figured they would shut down as they passed the no smoking law here in Raytown this past summer and would put an impact on business, at least we still have Church's chicken.  The ole lady and me was thinking tonight about investing in a Go Chicken Go franchise here in Raytown.  I'd frecking be able to retire in a year if that was to happen

Right!  The story goes that she got the family named business in the divorce settlement and he reopened at the original location under the Fritz's name.

If you mean the place off Metcalf about 80th (guessing) street, my boys and I go there simply because it's some local guy behind the counter dishing up food for a long time, versus some teenager throwing a sack through a window at some chain.

I love BWW but everyone one of them that I go to in STL is ungodly slow.  I don't mean 10 minutes, I'm talking almost an hour in an empty restaurant to get your food.  Servers are all terrible. I thought it was just the Wentzville one, but every other one I've been to in STL is the exact same way.  It's gotta be a corporate training thing with poor server hiring and training and bad kitchen organization.  I'm a reasonable person but seriously how long does it take to heat up some wings and throw some sauce on them?

Besides their service issues they tried to poison me once.  True story, I call in a take out order and was told it'd be 15 minutes.  No problem I show up about 20 minutes later and proceed to wait another 10 minutes.  I ask the chick behind the counter politely what the status is, she blows me off.  I sit back down, wait another 10 minutes then in a little more pissed off voice asked if I needed to go kill the chicken to get the process moving.  5 minutes later I get my food, race home to eat it before it's cold.  take a huge bite into a wrap sandwich which was supposed to have asian zing of some medium level sauce.  Nope those F'ers loaded it with Blazin, and I mean so much so the thing exploded with sauce when I bit into it.  Now I can eat habeneros all day long and have had Blazin sauce a lot as hot stuff doesn't effect me.  However, this was some type of concentrate form of the sauce as it was 10+ times more potent.  I almost threw up.  I stormed back up there and ripped the manager apart, the dude didn't even offer to refund my money.  I then went to the district manager who was very weak.  He refunded my card and offered me a $25 gift card.  I was like ok so if you poison someone your company policy is to give them a gift card to eat there again? I eventually gave up as it was a waste of my time.  Probably should have filed a police report but wasn't worth the hassle.  So I swore I'd never give them another dime.

I've been to several of the BWWs in the STL area lots of times, and it's always been fine - crowded or slow.  Well, I guess they did mess up a takeout order once - but that was just giving me regular wings instead of boneless.  I called them and they gave me my next order free.

This....
I've really been trying to like the place, but the food is not that good and every time I go there the service is just under not that great, the food has been slow and not the great either...
However, I enjoyed hanging out with the fellas from down around Farmington and Park Hills....
As a side note, we did find a Winery outside Farmington thats "Progun" and the owner told us hes a gun guy and has shoots out there sometimes....

You guys are prolly thinking WTF are you all doing at a Winery...  Some of them offer various Beers, Mixed drinks, food and Hot Country Womens by the bus load....  Like a 8:1 ratio of chics to dudes....  Not that any of that does my ugly ass any good, but its nice to have good scenery...
