anyone know where i can get some roll pin punches to assemble my lower and a brass or nylon hammer. and what type of lube if any do i need for the trigger ass. im looking to buy locally so i dont have to wait on an order . i just got all my parts in and would like to put it together this weekened. im in the victoria area but im going to the gun show in houston tomm. thanks for the help...texas_glocker.

Check with your local Snap-on, or Mac tool dealer they are not cheap but will last a long time and are guarenteed for ever.

cheap roll pin punches from autozone will work,  but they break pretty easy too.

I have put togeher about a dozen of these things and never used a set of roll pin punches.
The only punch you realy need is 1/8".  Or press them in with vice grips

Sears for your first set, something like Snap-On for your second.*


* unless you can afford to buy Snap-On your first go-round

i pressed mine in with vise grips and pliers to hold then steady.

i just shot the trigger/hammer assembly with clp. use whatever lube you normally use.

I have a set of lymans.

If you are near Garland i will let you borrow them.

I do the vise grip press in method myself i have these mostly for dissasembly.

ETA sorry just read where you are... Cheaper than dirt has them for 20$ and packages to anywhere in texas are pretty much next day since they are in ft worth.

As BigRedDog said, Brownells (www.brownells.com) can fix you up. Midway USA (www.midwayusa.com) also has good gunsmithing tools.  Both places are superfast on shipping as well for stuff they have in stock. Order it today and open it on Friday or Saturday.

i picked up a couple at sears. just got done woth my lower minus the buffer tube. still waiting on it in the mail. nice start to my first biuld though!!! thanks for all the info!

Nail set punches work best on roll pins like the ones that are used for the bolt catch and trigger guard. they have a cupped tip that fits over the roll pin and doesn't slip off easily. I bought a set at Home Depot for ten bucks.
