Im looking for any ranges within a few hours drive of eastern CT with some real distance, 500ish yds and greater.
My local club only goes to 100 and my buddies only goes to 200. With the recent purchase of a 338 LM I'm dying for some real distance Any ideas??? |
I realize it might be quite a haul, but I belong to a 500yd range in southwestern VT. It would be about 3 hours one way as mapped from Putnam, CT. They're still accepting members, or if you happened to know someone who belonged there ( ) you could come as a guest. It gives me a decent opportunity to play with my .308 and is a nice range. Not usually busy either.
Pemi Fish and Game in New Hampshire has been talking of building a 1,000 yard range, and is in the process. That's a pretty long drive, but I'm sure your 338 LM would appreciate a chance to spread it's legs out a bit.

Sprague only has 100 yards. Pemi is nice. I taught a class up there a few years back. But as mentioned a long drive.
We work at the same place although I am a civilian on lower base. If you wanted to go out to Ledyard sometime and shoot the 400 I could find some time. |
