Viola, TN, near McMinnville. Pistol, 100 & 200 yard range, falling plate on handgun range. Owner runs the place, nice guy. Costs $5 per person to shoot under a shed roof. No full auto. TWRA range, outside Ashland City, Cheatham Co. Near Two Rivers Vol FD. Free & you occasionally get the idiot shooter next to you. Be careful. Anything can be shot. Owl Hollow Gun Club, Franklin, TN. Private, dues are nominal, around $30-50 a year. No idea what's allowed as I've never been. Priest Lake Gun Club (my place). Dues are $35 a year, we use the Smyrna Nat Guard range, we get X amount of days per month. Range is 25 yards & in. The Guard can sometimes be jerks/power tripping, pisses me off. No full auto for us lowly civvies but the Guard & LE can shoot them all freaking day. No shotguns either. Big Springs Clays, Murfreesboro. Skeet & trap & sporting clays. Nice folks there. $5 a rd for skeet (I think) or sporting clays. You HAVE to pet the dog or you will have a terrible rd for score! Nashville Gun Club, off Briley Pkwy. Skeet only, AFAIK. Home to many celeb fund raisers, Barbara Mandrel, Fred Thompson, etc. Davidson Co. Sportsman Club, somewhere in West Nashville. Never been there but I think it has 100 yard & handgun range. Gun City, Murfreesboro Rd., Nashville. You shoot down in their dungeon, hand cranked target holders, $25 per visit. Not worth it unless it's 25 freaking below zero & you just bought a new gun. Shoot anything you want, including full auto AFAIK. Used guns sell for NIB MSRP there. Uselton's Gun shop, Goodlettsville. Never been there, indoor range. Another indoor one in Joelton, can't remember the name or if it's still open. |

Binkley's Firearms Training School 755 Knox Road Chapmansboro, TN 37035 (615) 505-9626 (Just South of Clarksville, TN) Take Exit 19 off of Interstate 24 go South on Route 256 about Half a Mile. Turn Right onto State Highway 41 at the Shell station. Go one and 2/10 mile until you see the abandoned gas station on the left(Stack's Market) and turn left on Thomasville Road. Then you will take the Next Right on Knox road 3/10 mile down the road (Go slow because the road is hidden)Now just go straight 9/10 until you see the red barn on the left. It doesn't look like a gun shop or range to the untrained eye but thats it. Excellent gun prices and on-sight gun repair. They will even build Custom guns for you. They have an unsupervised range in the back for pistol or rifles out to 100 yards.I believe they charge $1.00 per half hour. Targets and ammo available on sight also. They have Certified handgun carry coures available. Richard Binkley is the owner and is one of the nicest and most knowledgable people I know. Definetly a person who has been there and done that and knows what the hell he is talking about. |

Chattanooga area TWRA range at the entrance to Prentice Cooper Take Signal Mountain Road to foot of mountain, turn onto Suck Creek Road. Go to top of the mountain, turn left into entrance to Prentice Cooper. Range is on the right after entering. 10, 15, 20 yard pistol range 50, 100 yard rifle range Cement benches/floor, covered range, free. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. No full auto, local TWRA officers got pissy about shotgun use after replacing several target holder uprights (4x4 posts). Nice range if you go during the week but crowded on weekends. |

There appears to be a new TWRA range in Nashville. It is in the SE corner of the county. I 24 exit 62. Go south (past the TA etc...) approximately 4 miles on the right. From I 40, exit 226. Go north (past the Cracker barrel) approximately 5 miles on the left. I noticed it this evening while driving by and was unable to stop and check things out. I will go by tomorrow and see what is up with it and give better directions. It is on Hobson pike, near the lake. From what I saw, it seems to have plenty of shooting lanes at various distances. Should be real nice. More info to follow tomorrow. |

Knoxville Area: Norris Watershed Rifle Range Permits issued at Norris Police Station Only 494-6468 40yd pistol range with 2 benches in covered area. 50, 125, 225 yd open range with 6 benches in covered area. Not Automatic Weapons allowed. Open all year except when Quota deer hunts are going on. Closed Thursday from 9am-11am for cleanup. Dir. I-75 exit 122. Turn east towards Norris Dam State Park. Go to the Red light just past the turn for the Dam and make a left. Go approx 1 mile, you'll see the middle school on the left and the police station up in front of you. Knoxville/Halls: John Sevier 2327 Rifle Range Rd. DIRECTIONS: Take I-640 to I-75N. Exit(108) on Merchants Rd. Turn Right. Turn Left at first light onto Central. Turn Right(0.5 mile)onto Dry Gap Pike. Turn Right(1.5 mile) onto Rifle Range Rd. Facility on Left(1.5 mile)into facility. A valid TWRA entrance pass to shoot is required and a Range Safety Officer is present during open hours. Facility use fees are: Adults(16 yrs. and older)-$4.50 per 2 hrs. OR $101/Annual pass; Youth(under 16 yrs.)- $1.50 per 2 hrs. OR $26/Annual pass. Groups/programs/events must be scheduled in advance. Hours of operation are: PISTOL/RIFLE: Tu/Th/Sa(10A-6P); SHOTGUN: Tu(6:30P-10P); Sa/Su(1P-6P). Permits are sold until 5 pm for pistol and rifle shooting. Shotgun permits on Tuesday nights will sell until 7 pm. **All ranges closed on first "Full" weekend(Sa/Su)of each month for Military use.** We welcome everyone to come try the excitement of sport/target shooting. |

GATLINBURG SPORTSMAN'S CLUB www.gatlinburgsportsman.com/ Gatlinburg Sportsman’s Club is a members-only shooting club with a 200-yard rifle range, a 100-yard pistol range, fishing pond, and picnic pavilion. Members have a gate key and may use the facilities at any time, seven days a week. The Sportsman’s Club’s annual membership fee is very reasonable and you may wish to join, even if you live out of town. Our facilities can add to your family's vacation enjoyment. Rimfire, black powder, centerfire rifle/pistol. Shotgun is "ok", but frowned upon because people want to throw clays and shoot toward the farmhouse. No prob if you are patterning (sp) a turkey gun or slug gun or shooting "tactical" Not sure about Class III, never have seen it there, but don't think it is against the rules. Weekend can be busy, weekday is usually deserted.

Question about Guncraft in Knoxville: Are you sure it's still open? Last time I drove by there, it looked like it was out of business. East Tennessee, between Knoxville and Chattanooga: Fugate's Firearms, indoor range. Any used handguns, or pistol-caliber rifles can be rented and used at the indoor range. ($5 each?) $7 for 1/2 hr., no rifle-caliber weapons allowed. (Nice range.) Friday night Carry Permit classes, (Taught by the owner, a nice lady named Carmen Fugate. Excellent class for ladies looking for a carry permit.) Good prices, nice folks to deal with. Calhoun, TN, within sight of Bowater Paper mill. 423-336-2675 Cleveland Hunting, Rifle, and Pistol Club I'm a member. It's a good club, but, it's shut down 1 weekend each month for a 3D archery shoot.  (I'm not an archer, so that really bugs me, since it's a GUN club!) Skeet range with high and low houses. 100 and 200 yard rifle ranges. 6 pistol ranges, and an indoor archery range. Cowboy shoot once a month, and they've recently started IDPA shoots. IDPA, Cowboy, and Archery shoots are open to the public. It's off of Lead Mine Valley Road, and kind of hard to find. I think there's a map on the web page. CHRPC Come check us out! |
