I recently moved into a apartment around the Kennesaw area and I'm looking for a range. I know there's that outdoor range up in Cartersville but I'd like to find something a little closer.
On a unrelated note, does anyone know the current wait time on a CCW in Gwinett county? I've been waiting for 4+ weeks now. |

I'm in Kennesaw. We go up 575 to Canton to shoot at Hi Caliber. We were just there yesterday. But they're doing cop stuff right now...almost over. Probably best to starting tomorrow. There's also Nick's and Pannell's but their ranges and range rules really pale in comparison. |

There is also www.creeksidefiringrange.com. 30-40 min west of you.
Also wild west traders in marietta but I wouldn't recommend anyone in there. Lots of guns being pointerd everywhich way............and that's just the people working there. |

I drive past Nick's every day, but every time I go in there I get a negative impression, so I only go in every few years (going back to when it was Ed's), and then I only buy anything if it's something I absolutely need now. |

But I personally wouldn't have known it if my brother didn't say anything. Guess I have higher tolerance. Now there was a steady stream of smoke just lingering at the 15 yard line that we noticed. So I really don't know what to tell you...I think it's fine. I breathe well and can see fine...but D_Crisis was coughing for hours after we left. Now if you're taking about heat...yeah it got hot. And he had his sodas and I had my camelbak just for that purpose because that corner we stay it heats up after a minute of drills. |

Hi Caliber has a really nice showroom, but the ventilation on the range is terribly inadequate. I really wish the guy would spend the money and get a good ventilation system, but until he does I won't go back there are enough places around, and more soon to open that don't risk my health when i shoot. Just my opinion. |

I was up in the Canton area this morning and finally got to go by Cherokee Gun and Pawn. Wanted to go by Hi Caliber and Big Woods good but forgot the directions for those two. Never realized that Canton was less than a hr from me. Op I hope you find a good indoor range. Stoddards will be opening theirs some time this year, maybe next. |

Big Woods Goods doesnt have a range (that I know of), but everybody in there is really helpful and really nice. Their ammo prices are usually pretty good. Its immediately off of exit 14 on 575. Take a right off exit 14, go about a 1/4 mile and its on the right. Up the stairs above the salon. Is Creekside the only outdoor range? I'd much rather shoot outside. I live in Kennesaw off of the Wade Green exit on 75. |

I thought that was odd too when i went this weekend? did big woods have the building before hi caliber or did they move there knowing the other range was there?
there is alot of money in Hi caliber's back stop. i wonder what big woods is going to do to top it? computer controlled tactical targets? wonder if this will force HC to update their ventilation? or if BW's range will be significantly cheaper? I wouldnt think that market could bear 2 shops... |

The way I was told, they had the land for awhile but Hi Caliber's activity got them off their butts to get the project done. |
