What's the process to recall a senator? I think we should make a habit of not just fighting the re-election but make them sweat right away.

I don't think we have one.

But I saw a thing the other day that said Malloys approval rating was 24%. It should be law that anytime your approval rating goes below 30% there should be an emergency election for a replacement. The sitting governor would still automatically be on that ballot, but the people should have an out.

I can't stand that little weasel and I've let him know how he does not speak for me as a CT resident on multiple occasions.

Statistics and polls get manipulated all the time ,as much as I like the idea though

....and let's be honest....short of a picture of Murphy caught didling an underage child ,while wiping his ass with a picture of  Obama with a tattoo of the hammer and sickle visible on his back. no way a democratic senator in this state is going to get recalled by the majority of the electorate who voted him in.

If we had such a mechanism I could see a recall having better results than the election. We're motivated, they aren't. In reality there are a lot more pro gun folks than the general election indicates and if the "votes the party line" apathetic folks don't participate I think we would see a very different ratio on a recall.

Oh well, was worth a thought I guess. Maybe we should push to get THAT put into law. Not bring it up as related to firearms, just a general piece of state legislation...

Senators and Congressmen cannot be "recalled", there is however a mechanism spelled out in the Constitution where the House or Senate can vote to expell a member from the body.

Under Article I, Section 5, clause 2, of the Constitution, a Member of Congress may be removed
from office before the normal expiration of his or her constitutional term by an “expulsion” from
the Senate (if a Senator) or from the House of Representatives (if a Representative) upon a formal
vote on a resolution agreed to by two-thirds of the Members of that body present and voting.
While there are no specific grounds for an expulsion expressed in the Constitution, expulsion
actions in both the House and the Senate have generally concerned cases of perceived disloyalty
to the United States
, or the conviction of a criminal statutory offense which involved abuse of
one’s official position.

Here is a pretty good summary from the Congressional research service:

What the hell happened to the "Republicans" that ousted the dems in the last election?????!!!   Why do the Dems ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS lead the house & senate around by the nose regardless who is in power?  I'll tell you why.  The Dems are RUTHLESS and will do whatever they can short of physical beatdowns to manipulate the house & senate so that the already weak Republicans look even weaker even though they are in the majority!  This is maddening!   The bulk of what Murphy spouted during that tirade can be easily be demonstrated as either totally wrong or exaggerated.  Does he care?  Absolutely not.  The camera is on him, after all, and he's playing to the ignorant population.  Rather than publicly solding Murphy in a retort,  Ryan and McConnell figures if he doesn't say anything Murphy will go away. McConnell should simply not allow those votes to be taken, period.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is THIS type of limp-wristed, linguine spined, head-up-their-butts behavior that created Mr. Trump.  Here was an opportunity for some real statesmenship to be introduced to the public by our side but, instead, they are all in CYA mode, not wanting to alienate those moderate, left of center voters in their district.  People are sick and tired of being manipulated and lied to by millionaire politicians who are surrounded by machine guns while they make us limit our mags to 10 rounds.  All Murphy did was stand on the graves of 49 Americans and play to his ilk just like with SH and the other crime scenes. Their motto is clear: Never let a tragedy to waste.  I swear they have  a play book ready on a moments notice.
