I need to check my criminal record for my CHL license. I need the date of my arrest for the application. It was a Class C misdemeanor. Is there any where that I can get this info for free?

sure--the "Clerk" of the Court where you got popped. they usually have a "public docket search" on-line where you just plug your name in and the court 'puter searches out your case no., dates, etc. or, just call 'em up and ask 'em to do a search for you. Find the court at:

Court  Regions

FWIW: Penal Code Sec. 12.03(c) says: "...conviction of a Class C Misdemeanor does not impose any legal disability or disadvantage."

my .02:  if you're not in any hurry, try and get the "C" "expunged" or sealed-up first before you apply for your CHL. ask the Clerk what's needed.

Convictions cannot be expunged.  There is a way to get an order of non-disclosure, but that does not prevent LE agencies from viewing the charge.

Class C disorderly conduct convictions makes you ineligable for a CHL for 5 years.
