They may want to be looking for a body...

You take that many guns from a "collector" or "dealer" and they don't report it???

That's a lot of rifles.. likely they can probably trace one/some of them from manufacturer records to different FFL records.  I do hope they go back to the original owners and not become scrap..

Owner who got jacked probably didn't know the serial numbers so there was no way to enter them into NCIC.

I had some firearms stolen years ago and the officer was able to pull up the aerial numbers from his computer in his car. I didn't know the numbers but they did. I ended up getting one back two years later

WA has a registry for handguns, were the ones you are thinking of handguns?  It doesn't have long guns in it is my understanding.

Police can run you by CPL number and will get a list of all handguns you purchased in WA from an FFL.
