I found a re loader that I like, I am wondering if anyone here has experience with it? It is made by blue press and is a XP 650. Would I need allot of accys? Mostly would reload 556 with it. Some 9mm. Thanks in advance.

It's made by Dillon, Blue Press is their monthly catalog, magazine, eye candy publication, and the current model is an XL 650.

If you go to this link there is a ton of useful no BS information on Dillion products.

This link is a great guide to help you decide which Dillon press is the best fit for you.

That Brian Enos link has some great info.

I have a Square Deal auto indexing press and a 550 non-auto indexing press.  I bought the SD because of that feature.  I have found that auto index is really not all that great.  If you have any SNAFUs (like say a primer not dropping correctly) you have to futz around quite a bit to get all the stations back on line properly.  The auto index is nice if you shoot light loads because it makes it harder to double charge.  A better plan is to use the powder level indicator or just always load more case filling loads such that a double charge makes an overflow.

Sooooo.  If the thing that makes you want the 650 over the 550 is the auto index, my advice is that I don't prefer auto index and you might be better off with the 550.

ETA: Of course the SD is handgun only.  I mention it to contrast the issues with auto indexing between the 650 and 550 Dillons

I will be pushing 68-77 gran bullets in 556, I don't think you could double charge. The SNAFU factor is one I had not considered. I thank you.

I just started reloading and found that some research time beforehand is invaluable. "The ABC's of Reloading" and lot's of lurking on the arfcom reloading forum really helped me along. I'm still learning so it's great to have so many old hands that are willing to lend their experience.

I have a 650 and wouldn't use any other progressive.  Dillons tech and service are the best, call them and they will answer your questions.

The 650 has a powder check option for the 3rd station, it is very sensitive and you won't get an over charge, I think its worth the money.

The auto index is one of the best features, but if your not going to buy the auto case feeder with the 650, then buy the 550, you have to put a case in the shell plate, you might as well cylce it too IMO.
