I'm in Morris county. Where is the best place to get powder, primers, etc? I'd like to get them locally and avoid hazmat fees.
Thanks.

The best place is probably gun shows. most of the NJ shops cost almost twice and I bite it as a starter then when i did the math it cost more the factory round. This make me save money and get my year supply on the gunshows. check out some PA gun shows....

Try Ramsy Outdoor in ledgewood. Thay are the only pleace in Morris County, that I know of, that stocks reloading supplies.

Where are you located and what do you reload for? I'm in Parsippany and load .45 and 9mm.

I'm in madison. I'm just getting into reloading, so I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to be making. I'm pretty sure I'll be loading 30-06 for the garand and .223 for the ar at least.

Ramsey's in Ledgewood is the closest place I know of. They will have powder and primers. If you are looking for dies, brass, press parts, bulk bullet heads take a trip to Ray's on rt 22.

I gotta second Soloman's. I can get bullets from him for cheaper then I pay online, powder and primer prices are good and his gun prices are pretty decent too.

That's the place Call before you go as he has limited hours. If you need any lessons on reloading, I'd be glad to help. I've been reloading since 1982.

With the price of .223 inching ever higher, would reloading be economical at this point and time

Yes, if you have the brass. I always try to buy in bulk. Powder is appx. $125.00 for an 8lb. can. Out of that can I can make appx. 1950 rounds. Primers are a penny and a half. I buy 2000 55gr. FMJBT bullets for $85.00 ( 4.5 cents ea.)

I never count my time as I do it when ever I have some free time. So if I do the math correctly it works out to .12 cents a round. If you shop around for bargains I'm sure you could lower the cost a bit more.

The only part I dislike about reloading the .223 is trimming the cases. It's just not fun.
