Are there decent prices at the Indy 1500s on reloading stuff to warrant a trip? I will need the usual: powder, primers and projectiles to keep me busy over the winter. Mainly for the 5.56, 7.62x51, (-06), .30 carbine, .45acp & ....???

How do you guys fare on these, and anyone specific to look out for?

TIA,

Prices are hit and miss. I've found deals like .308 bullets for 6cents each, and then I've seen em for 15cents(all surplus pulls).

Powder is reasonable(<$20 a LB) but you save the hazmat fee. Same with primers, I found some guys with #41 CCI mil's for $23 per K.

There is a big tall fellow, probably 6'8 older white guy with glasses who has good prices on brass/bullets. I've bought from him many times over the years.

I haven't been to the 1500 for about year or so now. The only real "deals" I remember were just not having to pay hazmat fees on powders & primers I couldn't get locally. YMMV

I've had better luck at Knob Creek than the 1500.....having said that, I always bring some components home from the 1500 too.

Thanks guys,

I am lucky to make the 1500 once a year anymore!!! I believe that I recall that tall fellow, he seemed to come down on prices when buying quantities.

I have started to resize and decapp my 5.56, I still have another 2500+ to prep!!!

Well, my son and I plan to attend the Oct show, if nothing else to hassle some folks.... Like Ron and Patti!!!
