| Anybody else get the email from GRNC saying that Restaurant Carry is going to get a vote in committee? I wonder if it will get passed in committee? I want to see these so called Republican friends of gun owners go on the reccord by voting on this issue. We will see I guess. |

We can only hope. Its been voted on before. Well see. Actually we can do a LOT more than just hope. We can call everyone on the committee and let them know what we want. Follow up with emails and even some snail mail that it how the squeaky wheel get the grease. |

I wouldn't mind seeing it like FL where you aren't allowed in the portion of the establishment that is designated for serving alcohol or something similar. That'd be like the bar section at Applebees as opposed to the whole restaurant. It was still pretty vague and I know we used to say we were in the portion of the establishment for picking up chicks, sitting, or some other non-sense.
They also have it so you can carry while drinking, just not handle the gun. I felt that one was pretty common sense and not overbearing. |

Let's hope. Hate that one. I can understand a bar, club, or when drinking anywhere, but not at a sit down type restaurant. Even a Chinese Buffet is likely off limits as most would offer alcohol. I know how it works. I was saying it is silly to ban carrying in a place such as a restaurant simply because alcohol is served. Already a law about no drinking and carrying. |

I had a guy come into my Applebee's the other day with a CCW under his shirt. He tried to play dumb saying that he wasn't drinking so he could carry. Even though we may not like the law, we still have to follow it until it changes. |

And it's people like that that make it more and more difficult to prove that a vast majority of the people with permits are "law abiding" and deserving of trust. |

That guy is pretty dim if you were able to tell he was carrying. Thats the whole point of concealed carry that no one knows you have it.
