| So I live in around the Germantown, WI area. What rifle ranges would you recommend nearby? I have my first AR15, and I'm looking to taking her out shooting! I was eyeing the Saukville Rifle and Pistol Club. Any recommendations or thoughts? |

+1 for da' Boone. I work in G'town and it takes me 15 minutes from my office. I practice High-power shooting every Tuesday from about 5-7, email me if you would like to go along. They are very black rifle friendly with a couple of AR leagues. Jim Daniel Boone is a bit "Fudd" in their rules, but it's tolerable, and they have a very nice facility. Not a member, but I've been there several times for vintage C&R military rifle matches. I've also done a few "running deer AR" matches which were great fun. I would probably have joined them if I lived more west/northwest in the Milwaukee area. IIRC, D.B. does have rapid fire rules (excepton for matches/events that require it), and they don't allow any "humanoid" targets, even ISPC/USPSA "box & octagon" targets on the 25 yard pistol range are forbidden. FBI B-27 silliouette's are a no-no obviously. Anyone who knows better, please correct me if this is no longer the case. |
