Link to Right2Bear application........

I just came across this information..... I do not have a IPhone or the Android but I thought I'd pass this off.  If any one has this program/application, please share your thoughts.

A quick check reveals 4 apps in the iPhone AppStore that are dedicated to Concealed Firearms Laws and gun laws in general. The reviews on all of them very widely. Cost ranges from free for a "Lite" version that shows info for only two states, to $2.99.

It appears that none of the apps cover ALL states, and many of the reviews states that there is incorrect or missing information in all of the apps. There is also the recurring complaint that an internet connection is required to retrieve information.

Anyone that has tried to track the constantly changing mashup of concealed weapons laws of all of the states knows that this is way more than a full-time job. A central server that would retain updated information that would feed the iPhone or Android App is also needed to avoid having to constant update and re-download the app. That means an internet connection is a must.

Personally I see a limited usefulness.

But that's just me.

I'm agreeing with you since it's not a official database of the state laws.  That's sort of why I'm curious about these apps.

Thanks.

Or you can use your nifty 3G coverage to go to handgunlaw.us and look it up.  Same precautions apply regarding accuracy and 'up to dateness' but I know the guy who runs that site is intent on keeping it as current as possible.
