I would 2nd this.  On balance Bob and Rocco have more guns than military stuff, although that stuff is present as well.

The military shows are just that, patches, and lots of old looking stuff.

The "best" show I have gone to in the last year is Waukesha.  Having said that I have only gone to 3 shows in the last year and 3 in the last 10 years total, so I am not an expert or regular.

Fond du Lac and Oshkosh are not bad either, Waukesha "appears" to have more AR/Black Rifle people in the crowd.  I am sure others can chime in on this as well.

Good luck!

I've been to many of his shows and most every Waukesha for a few years. I would agree that Waukesha is the "best" though that isn't saying much.  The big Fond du Lac show certainly trumps it in size and turn out but I can't stand walking around in a sardine can like that.  Waukesha tends to have the best vendor turnout. Occasionally the Milwaukee County Sports Complex location is decent but Waukesha attracts a few others with little surprises that sometimes show up like Bravo Co. mentioned above –– a small nondescript table with a pile of PMAG's and some other good stuff! You do see more black rifle stuff, such as the M&A Parts guy, he only goes to Waukesha.

Milwaukee also tends to draw a different crowd –– I recall a small table maybe two shows ago with an unknown vendor having about 20 small revolvers of various makes –– all in unknown condition with a small hand written sign saying they weren't guaranteed and needed work/inspection from a gunsmith. They all arrived to the show in big bag and some were as low as $60. Somehow it was a private sale. You can imagine the winners that were buying from him no questions asked. Normally I don't care, I'm all for private sales and don't concern myself with what is not my business, but this was truly scary. Exactly the type of crap that is passed on as stereotypical shady gun show dealing that normally doesn't really happen.

For the most part though, after a few of the shows, it's a lot of the same people in the same places with the same stuff. The only thing that changes dramatically from show to show are the prices!! Going up, of course.

I've heard of the "big" shows in other states and will have to go to one in the near future, sounds like a whole different animal.  Anyone have a recommendation of the biggest and best?
ETA: I just looked up the next Waukesha show and was going to tell you I'd see you there but it is the same weekend I'll be in GA for the Silencer Shoot.

And not cheap stuff ... 20 bucks for a patches and 1000.00 and up for old helmets.

I wouldn`t waste your time on the military shows unless your into the old stuff.

So am I better off attending the Wakeshau show to sell my "this and that I have accumulated over the years" black gun stuff?

I would attend the 19th (saturday only) with two tables then drive home to Green Lake that night.

If anyone else is interested or has a better idea, please let me know.

Thanks

I would say that is a good plan.  Typically there are more vendors that show up on Saturday that were not there Friday night.

Not that I enjoy paying twice to get in... but there is always some deal I can't quite pull the trigger on and then after sleeping on it, go back Saturday only to be disappointed it is gone.... some day I will learn.

The only benefit of doing Friday is that you get to setup before the doors are open.  As people line up to get in, we see those with tables walking around cherry picking... I've been tempted to get a table just for that opportunity.  If I were to be in town, I'd split the table cost with you just for early access!

I had a table at the last one on Friday and the cherry picking was nice but people still try to haggle. Saturday I think is a much better day to sell your stuff. You have longer times and more people on Saturday. But you better scramble if you dont have your tables yet, they can get hard to come by in certain months (usally the winter). The best advice I was given is if you have stuff that is in high demand to not price it until you get there and see what other people are selling it for if available and beat their price by just a little bit.

I hope to see some of you there, I need to be more social.
