I called Ruger yesterday to get my 2012 NRA Instructor discount sheet and was told that they are currently not taking orders and are backlogged. She aske dme to wait and if I did send in payment/order, it would ship next day, however, it was looking like a 4-6week wait.
Anyone else hear about this ? |
If you are referring to Ruger not taking orders, they announced it in April or late March and it was supposed to end in late May. This is so they can catch up on the 1 million gun challenge. Yes guys I'm bitching again about my wait on my GSR I ordered in September. Would be nice if it comes in soon.

I have no idea when they will begin talking orders from NRA Instructors but the supply has been steadily improving on the wholesale level and apparently AO isn't having any problems getting 100's or possibly 1000's of hard to get Ruger firearms like SR1911's, 10/22 Takedowns ETC.

Seems I read yesterday that they were taking orders again. I'm thinking I need an SR22 with a threaded barrel to go with the SR1911 I got last week. The SR22 pistol is great for training, the little bugger is loud though. I went and bought one at Academy Sports for about what we would get with or NRA instructor discount and FFL fee. I am awaiting on shooting the .22 rifle though, due to buying a CMMG .22 conversion kit for $180 or use it as a designated training rifle. Glad to see they advertised they are taking orders, but customer service in NH needs to be told |

Todd Well I'm pretty sure that AO is in one of them. With some manufacturers shops that are part of Sports Inc or NBS get first shipments of hard to find goods before traditional wholesalers. They also generally get better pricing. That is why it looks like they're getting stuff that you can't. It might be worth checking into. We never did it at 400, but the volume needed in order to become a member might surprise you. |
