Looks like the upper will be done this week.  So I'm not in "constructive possession" of an unregistered SBR I'm going to build a pistol lower.  I'm going to pick up another receiver from 7Element this week.  Being a relative FNG to BRD I was wondering if any particular manufacturer's LPKs are better than another's.

I like Palmetto's stuff. I usually change out the trigger (I'm a Geissele whore), but that's it. Even the standard trigger is G2G.

Paperwork's already in West by God Virginia.  The wait time calculator on the NFA board is currently running about 5 months for Form 1s.  Here's hoping that holds true!  If it does I'll have my stamp before the end of the year.

Looks like I have a gas system issue.

We installed my KAC URX3 today. After that we attempted to install the gas block that came with the barrel. This is as far as it would go even with RemOil and grease. There is no interference with the gas tube and receiver. Is this a typical tight fit needing some judicious hammering or did the barrel come with the wrong block? Although the allen screws are visible in the photo they were completely removed when attempting the installation.  I've been told that this is uncommon but not unheard of and all it needs is some judicious sanding around the barrel to remove some of the anodizing should take care of it.  Thoughts?

Problem solved.  On close inspection I noted a small tapered step in the barrel at the gas block mounting area.  Removal of the block did not show any evidence of galling on the barrel from the block.  I added lube and used a hammer to tap the gas block into position.  Perfect fit!  The upper is now done (less an optic) and will be paired with a pistol lower until the Form 1 stamp comes back.
