Can someone tell me the steps to getting a Short barrel rifle?

Pick a rifle.

Fill out a Form 1, complete with fingerprints and a CLEO sign off.

Send in to ATF with $200

Wait.

Wait.

Wait.

Check the mail.

Spend money.

SBR goodness!!!

ETA: You also have to get your lower engraved with your name and locations.

For example:

556cowboy

somewhere, AR

Also, you can buy a factory SBR from a dealer just like you would a suppressor. Just have your class 3 dealer order it, fill out the Form 4 when he gets it in and wait once again.

I've done 1.5 of them. Dont ask. I know theres at least a half dozen other folks in here that have done them. We're all happy to help out.

I've got the .5 to finish, then I want to do 1 more AR type.

If I ever get ahold of some HK clones or some 5.45 guns I'll have to add some more.
