Ok Shot Show starts tomorrow. I figure its time to post everyones highlights. What not to miss, Whos giving away good swag etc.

PA checking in.....I'm in Vega$ since last night, waiting for the Avilas to wake the hell up (EdSr needs his beauty rest) so we can go to breakfast. 
I'll post updates as my dumb ass remembers them. BTW, anybody seen Wolfpack? I owe him a beer since my last trip here....

Ah well, work has to come first... we just got back to the room...dinner reservations are HARD to come by this evening..I guess we"ll just have to settle on the nearest buffet.....Any Arfcommers in the area though, we're here until Thursday or Friday...IM me and we'll hook up for a drink at least.

Also, the Ruger LC9 is being released soon. IMHO, the LC9 has too much wrong with it. mag safety right hand only thumb safety key lock loaded chamber indicator bigger, heavier and probably more expensive than the KT PF9 sooo, it's more than just a "scaled up" LCP. they added a bunch of crap to it.
i'd wait to see if someone documents a hack to remove the thumb safety, mag safety and key lock. don't expect the loaded chamber indicator to be so easy to eliminate tho. |

Only thing I am excited about are the new Weaver tactical scopes. I was 2 seconds from picking one up for my Grendal, and now they have illumination. Similar price point to the Burris XTR14 (my current optic) but they are FFP, the ocular bell doesn't rotate (yay, I can use buttler creeks!), and the Weaver is a 1-5x instead of a 1-4x. I also think the glass is a bit clearer, but that may be because I only saw the Weaver indoors.
The KSG looked neat, but that wore off when I held it, can't explain it, just felt really awkward, plus it's a Keltec, so they will hype it and then make like 3 a month for the next 5 years. Overall, this was a really disappointing show. |

Kel-Tec is releasing the KSG shotgun later this year. It holds 14+1. Also, the Ruger LC9 is being released soon. I know NFA is taking pre-orders. The shame about Kel Tec is that they come up with some pretty outstanding firearms designs. Their production quality falls flat though, which is sad. They should design guns and either learn to build them properly, or sell the design to a company that can. |

Well guys, after a whirlwind tour I had to leave at 4 am Thursday...back home now and finally awake after a full night's sleep.
So much to see at the show....I especially liked the SIG rifles they're releasing...Best thrill of all was to finally meet in person the folks from CMMG. These guys are (IMHO) geniuses in both their product design and their marketing philosophy. Not too mention, what OTHER company is brilliant enough to offer you Tactical Bacon?
Just to be brief (and I hope I'm not speaking out of turn) but their piston and .22 kits were awesome enough....THIS year you have GOT to check out their quick-change barrel mechanism and their 5.7 upper ESPECIALLY the magazine design...CMMG FTW!

| i was able to run through for a couple of hours today. The one thing i noticed was all of the 308 AR offerings. Even Colt has one. 8 years ago, you could have 1k rounds of Portuguese at your door for $149. The prices on ammo today are 3x that at least. I'm not sure how people can afford to feed these things, especially as 16" door kicker models! |

Looks like everyone but Costco has an AR platform now. The market is saturated, which means they're dirt cheap. But, I'm betting half of them will be gone in 18 months. I wish that would happen with ammo (the "everybody's making it" part). Had a great time all 4 days. Lots of great products exhibitors and, of course arftards. Ed blows a mean candle! |
