| With all the crap going around now days anybody else think there should be local designated rally points in case say Austin has to bug out. Meet at a certain point in the city and head out , a safety in well armed numbers kind of thing. Could be used for other purposes as well. |

While I am in the Austin area, and would like to be able to count on some additional "significant weaponry" to watch my 6, the question comes to what way are you headed and why? Chinese nuke Fort Hood and fall out heading south on the wind? Bird Flu in Buda? Shame so many of the good natural rally points would be "No Civilian Guns" zones (Camp Mabry, State Capital, ect...) Keep Your Powder Dry and Profile LOW! BIGGER_HAMMER

If I were the bad guy, I would initiate a fake SHTF scenario to get everyone to the rally point, and hit the rally point with the real deal. I've been considering putting together a street SHTF awareness program just for those that live on our street. Kind of like Neighborhood Watch on steriods. |

With heat detection devices from jets and choppers, plinking off foot soldiers would be hard to do. Night vision and thermals is some other animal to fight.......  With the majority of us who doesnt have those gadgets, they will be used against us, and will be a great disadvantage. Thermals will give up our positions so soldiers/commies will be aware............
