Where do you SW NH guys go for transfers.  I went to Trader Johns today, and he wanted $50 to do a transfer.  I told him to have a nice day.  I might be willing to travel to central NH if there is a nice shop that will do it for a fair price.

According to GunBroker, there are a number of dealers in Keene who will transfer for $20-25, and even one listed at $10.

What kind of transfer are you looking for? Dealer to dealer, Private to dealer(as in you bought a gun out of state from a private party and need a transfer), or private sale? Impact guns also has a dealer locator that lists fees for transfers. If it's a private sale just make sure they have a current NH pistol license.

I am looking to make a purchase from AIM surplus.  I have looked at that site, and it appears a lot either don't exist anymore or the transfer fees are not what they state on the site.  Is there any places that someone actually has done a transfer through before?

I would just call all of the places around you can find and find out what they charge for a fee. I'm sure you'd be able to find one that was $20-25.

I contacted a guy that is willing to do, he actually lives right down the street from me and will do it for $15.  Thanks for your responses.

Would you share the info for the FFL you used?  I'm also in the SW corner and could always use another good dealer.

Thanks!

That's typical Trader John's.  A friend of mine called me up wanting to go gun shopping one day.  He decided he had to have a Marlin lever action in .45-70 and he was our first stop.  When my friend asked him to see the rifle, the owner said "Why, you aren't going to buy today anyway".  My friend pulled the wad of $100 bills out of his pocket, flashed them and started to walk out.  The owner tried to get us to come back in, but we just kept on going to Alstead and bought there.

Yeah after this last experience I am done going there.  Every time I go in there the prices are higher, and I feel more and more unwelcome(even though I have bought guns and accessories there).

I tend to go to Alstead more, but their prices can be absolutely insane.

I have never hear anyone having a good experience at Trader John's.
