...well, there's a hiring freeze/ renegotiation of contracts, classes being bumped back, hurry up and wait, etc...I don't operate that way...but like I said I've got 10 pounds of jumbos and the new department underwater metal detector, did I mention I know the general area of a Rolex??? Only 120'...

Yup Vudu the LOGCAP contracts are under protest so everyone is in a holding pattern. I dont forsee Dyncorp losing anything though. Actually they weren't the problem they were actually good to go but everything has to be reworked. Have you looked in EODT they do some PSD work as well.

Understood...I was prepared to go first part of April...but even though it may be going later, my Dept. isn't so flexible...since it's not written in stone I got the contract...family responsibilities won't allow me to take the chance of not working...work says now 'if you leave, don't expect to have you job waiting for you when you come back'...before, I was taking vacation, if I made it, fine if not I'd be back at work at the end of my vacation...now, if I go, I'm gone...can't take that chance...not pissed or anything, it just changes the scenerio...

Cheers,
Lou
I have a dry suit...for in years prior, I would show up with two gigantic cups of coffee for a 'Winter's Dive Op'...once a member of this board saw me at the bank of a stream looking for a possible drowning victim, I had two cups of coffee...he said "hey, thanks" (it was about 14 degrees)...I said "these are not for you"...

Anywho, now I no longer pee in my wetsuit...(not meaning I will not)...

Greers Ferry Lake is a constant 45-46 degrees at depth...remember Folks, when diving and looking for 'treasure'...all the cool stuff is on the bottom...I haven't made a dive since the weekend before last...and that was for fun...as far as PSD diving goes, we don't get to pick when we get called out...

I bet my Zeagle Ranger XL would fit him.

It fits me great and I am a 6'2 265lb fat arse!

Now all we gots to do is borrow a blackhawk so we can go do a low level helo water insertion on greers ferry for fun.

I will loan dusty my gear, but he is in charge of coming up with a blackhawk!

I have suggested to my chain-of-command that I can probably find a helicopter to do a demonstration for Riverfest '07 (which is normally pretty lame)...we could do a helocast and 'rescue' while having a narrator describing to the croud what's happeing...(I have quite a bit of "dog and pony show" experience along with actually having done just about every kind of insertion there is)...when asked by my LT who was going to make the cast, I said, "You and me"...seems now I have been scheduled for a piss test...

This weekend's diving is canceled due to the rain, the 'vis' will suck...but the shrimp will be here Friday...so as we say on the dive team..."A Beer Front has moved in"...

Cheers,

Lou
