I was talking to someone the other day that brought this place up and was talking about how nice the place was. I cant seem to find a website or info about it. Does anyone have any info or have been there?

Are you talking about the gun club in Schapville a couple miles south of Scales Mound? They have a pretty good trap set up with a pit and thrower. I've shot pistol there a couple times. I wasn't exactly sure if you could shoot rifle or not.
You have to buy a membership card to be out there. I previously got one from the guy that had the gun shop in his basement on Stagecoach Tr, but last I heard he died and the guy that took over moved the shop to East Dubuque. Presumably you should still be able to buy the membership card there, but I would call ahead. Can't remember the name, but there can't be too many gun shops in East Dubuque. I think it was $20/year when I got my card, which I would consider a screaming deal for being able to use any range "nice" or not. |
