Never done this before but on Saturday and before giving my rifle a dry swab before going shooting I put it on my gun stand on the kithchen table turned my back and it clattered to the floor. After all the cussin, tears etc I picked it up and one of the mounts had come off the rail at one side. I re set it and tightened everything up and went to the range to see what damage had been done.
On firing at around 50 yards it was shooting a big hole in the back stop a foot and a half to the right. Adjusting the windage made no difference. I am going to get a set of alignment rings and check the mounts but I fear the worst is me scope US? Can it be reset on the windage without going to the factory? Its a S&B which I sent to the factory for a reticle change to a target style one. Does anyone know anyone who can check it in the UK? Thanks for any help. Looks like the Nightforce may be on its way sooner than expected. |

Contact the factory direct: [email protected] or +49 64 098 1150 I would imagine that a repair & service would be a lot cheaper than a new Nightforce... |

If one mount came off one side without damaging the rifle then my guess is the mounts were either loose or of poor quality.
Seeing as the other one was still attached, the tube was gonna be bent. When you get the replacement buy some good quality mounts, just to be sure. Just good fortune you house ins covered it. I got all my firearms and accessories added to my contents insurance as I found out if I had a 'malfunction' the limit for any one 'non-specified' item was not enough to cover enough to cost of replacement of many of my scopes let alone the rifles themselves. |
