My Springfield EMP was stolen last night - I was stupid enough to leave it in the truck I'm currently in the market for a monitoring system (cctv, ect..). What are my options? Any recommended local vendors? I'm in OKC around NW 63rd and Merridian |

There is an excellent writeup on security cameras in another sub forum. I will find and link if this doesn't disappear first. Look at the tacked threads. http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_6/46_Safes_andamp__Home_Security.html |

These days you can buy a whole setup from places like Best Buy that rival the systems that security companies charge way more for. My suggestion is to go through one of the local big name stores or even via the internet and buy a complete system. They are designed to be very easily installed by the home owner and definitely much less expensive than other options.

You get what you pay for.... |

I've got two cameras from Logitech and they work quite well for my needs. One covering the back of my house and another covering the front door. The video footage records to a microSD card in the camera and is downloaded through the Logitech software and saved to a hard drive on my PC. I've got the system setup to send me e-mail alerts to my gmail which is tied to my Android phone the moment movement is detected. I always know who is coming and going. My rear exterior camera is setup to operate through PoE or power over ethernet. Ive got a CAT5e cable running to a switch that has specific ports setup to send a specific voltage to power the camera. Everything has been rock solid, through plenty of storms etc. The frontdoor camera was installed a few weeks ago and the rear camera has been up for over a year. |

Don't have a camera recommendation but a buddy of mine bought some cameras n then soon found out his neighbors were comin over in the middle of the day n havin sex in his pool ....yuck! lol....anyways, he found an online website that's hooked to his cameras and they shoot him live video feeds onto his smart phone....the site is free to join up on, WiFi is highly recommended for this and I might give it a shot myself, just not sure what cameras to get yet. Still researching those some.
