Friends -  Shiner Bock, the national beer of Texas, has approached our borders and is now for sale in Massachusetts. I believe NH and VT are the sole holdouts. Now friends, I don't usually cotton to bottle deposits, but this is for Spoetzll Brewed Texas nectar.

You're welcome!

My brother works for the company that distributes them in MA. They should be up here in a year or so, and Yuengling should be up sometime in the 4th quarter. Goddamn liquor commission takes FOREVER to approve new products.

It's cuz they're too busy counting their shillings.

NH Liquor Sales Hit Record $626 Million

I was closely involved on the financial side with the planning stages of the 93 rest area project and some of the facts and figures the state throws around about liquor will make your eyes water.  Having always lived here, I never saw the big hoopla for out-of-staters...not until I tried to buy liquor elsewhere.

ETA: Damn it.  Meant to say thanks on the news about the Shiner!

As I recall it is just a bock beer.  Brown in color, similar to Beck's Dark.

I lived in Texas years ago.  Shiner wasn't something that I miss about the state, but hey- everybody has different tastes.

Enjoy your Shiner!

Though I never lived in Texas, I do miss drinking Lone Star when I lived in NYC.

Tried it over the holiday weekend was like a darker colored Michelob to me.  Not very thick almost too light for me in flavor.

I prefer something like Sam Adams  "Wee Heavy"
