I used to drive out to the factory and buy these all the time. Do they still sell them? Is it worth driving out to stock up again?

Call ahead first and check on the availability of the stock numbers you want. The last two trips I made out there, they were out of EVERYTHING. Nothing but empty barrels.

Last 2 times I went, it wasn't much different in price than I can buy locally...

It would be great if you can get price lists.  I would surely appreciate your help.

I shoot nothing but factory seconds from there.  Pistol rounds are rare but sometimes available.  Most bullets are just as good as first's, however, there are some exceptions.  I wouldn't buy any of the polymer tipped projectiles.  Tips may be in backwards, deformed, or even completely missing.

Generally, the price comes out to a little over half price when I've bought them.

Wow! I was really thinking that the prices would be better. $110 for 1k of the cheapest .223's

Is this stuff any better or on par with de mil stuff?

Yeah that's a bit pricy....10 cents a piece for 55 grain fmj is my limit.

The 45-70 bullets are good, have killed several deer with them.

I made the mistake of driving there once expecting a bargain.  There seconds aren't cheap.  I shoot mostly Hornady and get the same quality for less, first run.

This is all I use in my guns, I will say this: the number of projectiles is significantly more than what their sheet says. They sell by the pound but the woman behind the counter never weighs the pound you are receiving. Case in point, bought 2 pounds of .224 FMJ one time. Should have been about 260 or so projectiles. I counted every one I got from there and ended up with 310...
