They claim that it's illegal to carry on the premises.

Just wondering if that's maybe a standard company sign rather than it actually being illegal to carry inside. Like how the sign at Waffle House states their gun ban includes the parking lot (even though KY law specifies that it doesn't).

I did not realize Time Warner Cable did/does that.

I don't see how Time Warner Cable is any different than any other place.

Banks sometimes like to pull that same trash.   They generally spew some BS lie about being federally regulated and under federal government control.

It is not illegal, but Time Warner Cable, and banks for that matter, are private businesses and can keep almost anyone or anything off of their property, just like you can keep almost anything or anybody off of any property that you own or control. There is nothing new about private property rights. They have been in existence for centuries. Those places can keep left handed people off their property, if they want to. It is not a crime to carry a gun passed one of those signs, but they can ask you to leave. If you refuse to leave, that is a crime. It is trespassing. They can call the cops and ask them to tell you to leave. If you refuse to leave, you can be arrested. I have never understood why any business would want to limit the number of customers that can come into their place of business. It limits how much money they will make. Another thing that I don't understand is why any gun owner would want to give his money to any business that would disarm him. We don't have a lot of businesses in KY that put up these signs, but I don't give any of them them any of my business. I carry every day. I respect other peoples property and want other people to respect my preferences. It is sometimes inconvenient for me to do things like this, but I am willing to be inconvenienced to be able to continue with my life as I please. I have business card that I had printed. I give them out to businesses with "No Guns" signs. Here they are:

Hopefully, they will someday realize that the signs cost them business/money. There is no law in Ky. that says that Waffle House (or any other business) cannot ban guns on any property that they own, inside a building or outside on any open property(including, on your person, in the parking lot). There is a law that says that they cannot keep you from having a gun in your car, but if you bring it out of the car they can ask you to leave. Thanks. That's what I figured but wanted to be sure there weren't any exceptions for utilities.
