Met the owner of Silver State Armory today. Very nice gentleman, and was extremely knowledgeable about ammunition, especially the .499 which I had never heard of, and the 6.8SPC. Anyway seemed like an awesome guy. They make the entire round in house from raw materials. Cool stuff.  Wish I could have talked to him some more. Only bummer is that they only manufacture high-end ammunition in the big rifle calibers.
does anyone here have a 6.8mm? Sounds like an intersting round!

6.8 is supposed to be the next big thing, RRA, J&T, Bushmaster and several other companies have uppers for the round for sale.  The only problem with it is availability and expense.  If you want more info hang out in the AR15 section of this board, there's a neverending discussion about possible new calibers for the M16/AR15.

Where exactly is Silver State Armory?  Somehow I've missed them.

Apparently the factory is in Pahrump, but I don't know where exactly. I thought we might have a source of some ammo

Tell you what guys, when I reload my first batch of .223 you can try it out on your guns before I do.

Silver State is out in Parhump, off of 372.  They're a few miles away from where I'm having my house built out there.

Best,
