While I certainly agree with the rampant media sensationalism, the "bomb" description could also have come from a frightened employee or customer who was nearby when the thing went off. How many people have actually heard a bomb go off?
While possibly a prank, my guess is it was used as distraction while merchandise was being stolen. There's something about much of the clientele of that store. Seems like there's a couple of police cars sitting directly outside the place with surprising frequency. |
