just knocked on my door, at 3:58pm on Sunday.

Her: Hi, I am Susan and I am out today for the Obama, Vote for Change Campaign.  Are you Mr. ....

Me: Yes, I am

Her: We are going around to see if registered voters planned to vote on Tuesday.

Me:  Well, I actually voted on Thursday.

Her:  Great!  I hope you voted for the Change campaign.

Me: Well, I'm actually sitting her counting up my pistol magazines and checking my ammunition supply, so I will let you guess who I voted for.

Her: OH, ok...well, have a nice day.

Nice lady, very polite.  She just came at a bad time.  Had the safe door open and loads of magazines on the floor.  Wonder if I made her uncomfortable.

Makes me wonder, why are the Obama nation folks walking around door to door to get voters.  Are they that worried that the polls are wrong?

Just trying to find like minded individuals and then guilt them into voting.

We had a lady come by the house on Saturday, and asked are you "Mrs. SHIVAN"....

Using my wife's name in full.

I'd like to know how they get that info since we are not registered democrats.  Considering that the "grassroots" campaigns will take anyone with a pulse willing to work, why is my wife's information being handed out to God knows who?

Had this been a loonie toon, I was backing the door with a G19 and two reloads, but still...

the candidates can get a list of voters...which are to be used for official mailings and such...I'm sure that the local campaign offices are using those lists for this task

I had an Obamatard walk up to me this afternoon while I was raking leaves with my kid.  Actually, I was raking them and my daughter was scattering them back across the yard.  Scattering them until she stepped on a dog dookie and shrieked loud enough to wake the dead, but I digress...

The dude wandered over, and started with some canned horseshit line of who he was and how he was hoping to talk to be about voting for change.  I said, "change? sure, I can dig some charity..." and dug in my pocket for two pennies and handed them to him.

"Oh no sir, I am talking about voting for change...on Tuesday."

At this point, he gets a big blazing "F" for perception, since he was standing maybe ten feet from the McCain/Palin sign that I staked in my yard two whole weeks ago, and maybe five feet from my truck, which has both Nobama and M/P stickers (along with the USMC, Army, and college stickers that have been on there since I bought it).  Then again, if he's volunteering for obama he must be a retard.

"Dude, two things.  First, hell no, I am not voting for that socialist.  Second, get off my property.  Have a good one."

I grinned at him and went back to my raking, looking up to take a cellphone photo in case my truck gets egged tonight.

Yes, and who vets the VOLUNTEERS who now have full lists of these names and addresses that they weren't smart enough to get themselves?

I think it sucks.

I think they just want to make sure people vote.  If they vote for their guy it is a bonus.  But people getting involved is still a plus.

If you are in VA you aren't registered with a party.  Virginia just registers voters, not party affiliation.  As for how they got your name... voter rolls are public info.

I had some Obama people come to my door last week. When they knocked my dog started to bark and I guess scared them away because when I opened the door they were walking away and didn't want to come back. What can I say other than I have a great dog.
