It's coming to a neighborhood near you...scary shit!
In full support of out Troops in combat arenas, one has to wonder if all the additional hands-on training was just a huge training operation in conjunction of a much larger plan. EVERYTHING .gov touches deserves a hard look. ]

mildly over-dramatic with the verbal accentuation but the points are certainly salient.
I always get sideways looks when the subject of police/government etc. comes up and I have to rebuff someones un-informed assertion that the 2nd ammendment has anything to do with protecting "hunters rights". As is true with most of the rest of it, I find that people dont understand the thrust of the constitution or the conditions which provoked our founding fathers to take up arms against the british and form their own government. Maybe its the state in which we live or the life experience/ age of my cohort's but I find that 90% the people that I have discussed the subject with, really have no idea what the constitution is all about. The most difficult concept seems to be the one in which the citizenry should be constantly critical of a government which doesnt represent your best interests, provide you the comforts of personal safety, invest or use your money wisely and isnt responsible for raising your children. The best example of that which I often use is New Orleans circa 2004. Im sure alot of people instantly flip on the "racist/biggot" switch but I cant think of a better example of the danger of relying on government. You have a city of people so used to government coddling and direction (in the form of welfare, government provided health and human services and publicly subsidized housing en masse) that even when warned of immenent and grave danger, their first intution was to wait for someone (ideally "the government") to do something. We all know how that turned out (Mostly George Bush's fault of course). I wish it were easier for people to understand why "true patriots" support the further prevention of general government tyranny(in its many forms), the disruption of constantly growing government control (mostly in the form of taxes & man-made laws), the erosion of civil and constitutional rights and why these things are important but it often seems like an exercise in futility. In any case, theres nothing "extreme" about being critical of a government which is constanly critical of its own citizens. |
