Looking for a quality breeder of german shepards preferrably in the SWMO area but would be willing to make a short road trip.
Going to take my time and do the research so I'm not looking for a dog next week but am in the research stage. Not looking to pay a ton for a dog either. Some places are nuts on their prices! Any recommendations? |

Define your price range and what you are looking for in a GSD.
American bloodlines or European bloodlines? Bred for show with no regards for temperament or confirmation. Or bred for performance and ability. Color? Black/tan saddle back, black/tan blanket back, sable, all black? If working with quality breeders you get what you pay for. |

I knew someone would ask me about price  A few hundred dollars I guess. Not in the thousands that many are asking.
I'm ignorant on American vs. European bloodlines. I'm assuming European is more desireable. Not bred for show-just a family dog that can protect the woman and homestead. Color-black /tan or sable. |

Good luck to you and your pup At first we thought it was just fleas, an ear infection, broken tail, two types of worms and not being fed enough. We figured we could fix all those with a few vet bills. We love the personality of this dog and my girls and our family have already bonded with him. That will make it all the more difficult to see him go though his health issues. Not what you would expect when you buy a top end German Shepherd. |

It was a sad day for Sub-MG family. Our German Shepherd puppy passed away today at just 6 months old. We were lucky to spend almost 3 weeks with him.
This has been hard on the family. We will miss him. Now we are just angry and sad about how a breeder could sell us such a sick dog. We tried to make him comfortable over the last few weeks of his life. It has been very difficult for the girls to see him struggle every day and keep getting worse every day. |

I have a hard time offering my condolences to someone that has lost a dog (I mean its just an animal right?), but then I think back to how I was effected with the loss of my last dog. I had the pleasure fo spending 4 years of our lives together and then he deteriorated from running and playing to finally succumbing over the course of approx 4 weeks. Needless to say my sincerest condolences for you and your kids, hopefully they will recover quickly, and if the decision is made to get another dog may you all spend a lifetime together. |

I hate to through all of the dog breeders in this state into the same bucket but 8 out of 10 are doing just that, breeding with no regard to dog quality, temperament, etc. They just want it to "look correct" and puppy mill their way to the bank. If you're looking for a popular breed look outside Missouri. A big red flag is when they can't show you the dog's parents. |
