So, yesterday I was passing through Casa Grand on I10 Northbound.  I was going 74 with the cruise control on, in a posted 75 zone, verified by GPS, and the camera flashed.  No other traffic was around me.

Did they have the trigger speed set wrong or do they go off erroneously???  Will I get a bullshit ticket?????

I hate those fucking things.

Yes, I know about being served and the 120 day statute of limitations.  I put my hat over my face for every camera I passed the rest of the day.

The same thing happened to me- sounds like close to the same area in fact, but southbound.  It flashed me about 4 weeks ago, no ticket yet...

Sometimes those things just go off.  I wouldn't sweat it.  I've seen those things snap off several times when I've been driving in a pack of vehicles where there was no chance any of us was going 10 over.

I have yet to get a ticket for the times I've been flashed. Every time I was driving at or close to the limit (within the +/-9mph)

Amazing what a microburst of light does to my day.

I guess it is just a law of averages before Uncle Arizona pickpockets me with these cameras...

So did you sign the petition to outlaw them yet?

Yes, and I was ahead of that game recommending to command staff that they were a bad idea.

Political pressure for tax revenue is a motherfucker..................

I remember watching the news one night and they had a story about people getting a ticket in the mail and they weren't speeding.  The speed was on the ticket which was within the limit.  There's quality control for you.

They first came online when I was 17 and just got my drivers license, so I slowed down to 10 below just to "make sure." Well, one flashed me, while I was going 45 in a 55. Needless to say, I didn't get a ticket.

It is my understanding that the camera systems (both fixed and stationary) do a self diagnostics every hour or so, and part of that is snapping a pic of a random vehicle.

A friend once got flashed by a mobile unit at 4AM on I-17, well within the tolerances allowed.
No other vehicles in sight.

He called DPS, and he was told of the self diagnostics process.

I've been flashed at the speed limit near the top of the hour by a mobile unit, and did not get anything.

Of course it was a diagnostic..... the camera's are infallible..... I know a guy who works for ATS.... the camera's screw up all the time.... and they film 24/7.  They like to pass around the footage and see the stupid stuff people do.

How long does it take to get a ticket? I'm about 99% sure I wasn't speeding, but I got flashed heading towards Benson last Tuesday.

It took about 3 weeks for my ticket to show up.  Then a month for the process server to show up.  I live in S Vista and it was the Toltec camera that got me.

Be very afraid.  Change your schedule.  Sleep during the day and go to work at night.  They will break down your door in the middle of the night to take you away!  You were going too slow and causing a traffic hazard.

same thing happened to me on the 303...went south and passed the SUV as he was setting up, came back by north 10 minutes later and was slowing down for the redlight and looked at the GPS and showed 39 for the 50 mph speed limit...it flashed...I was pissed and was for the rest of the day....nothing ever showed up.
