I think it all depends on the cop, I thought I got popped at 10 over but it was for the lady behind me, I could just hear her saying "cracka ass cracka" when I drove off since she was going right around the same speed as me but had to catch up to me first . My brother though was going 5-7 over and got popped.

Here is a recent thread on speeding. City, county, and campus officers can not make a speeding case based off of speed detection devices for less than 10MPH over the limit except in marked school zones and marked residential areas. That is black letter law. This does not apply to GSP.

Also note a subtle part of JLW's post: tickets based off 'speed detection devices'... Speeding tickets can supposedly be written using other methods (pacing, visual estimation, etc) even when detection devices cannot be used. I've never done it (I never wrote many tickets in patrol, anyway), but I'm told it can be done. -Chris |

The exception only applies from one hour before school begins until one hour after school has let out and only on school days. |

I was down there over a difference of opinion of what a derlict car was. |

Hahaha. You can get pulled and ticketed at any time for any reason. Whether the ticket sticks or not is the issue. This is why I drive responsibly and show respect to authority. Quoted:
