Looks like a future dead spider if it arrives at my place.
When I moved to Texas in 1998 I went dove hunting with some friends near Alvin, TX. There were a lot of doves sitting on the power lines on the other side of some over grown tallow trees so my friends wanted me to walk through the trees and come out below the doves to scare them into flying over my friends for a pass shoot. When I walked into the trees I saw a bunch of spider webs strung through the trees with about 100,000 plus big spiders on the webs. I was tempted to dump the balance of the shot gun shells I was carrying by shooting spiders. Damn I hate spiders especially big ones. My friends later told me they were banana spiders. No matter I still hate spiders. Several years later I was on a lease with rice fields with tallow trees growing up along side the elevated private land (added the private road thing before the whiners chimed in) road beds. I would drive along the roads looking to see where the feral hogs were cutting between fields. When I would see a banana spider sitting on a web I would use my S&W 2206 .22LR pistol to shoot the spiders out of the webs. The back stop of course was the rice field dirt. I shot a lot of spiders that way. I also shot up a large paper wasp nest about 10" across. |

I don't mind working around bad guys but those bad guys are the worst. I remember going to out by College Station and seeing banana spiders. |

My mom iwas having chronic spider problems inside the house for several years until I went into the attic and set off 3 bug bombs from lowes (did this in march 2009).
she says she has not seen a spider since then. I am not an exterminator and have no idea if what i did worked but no spiders for one year. |

Sure looks like the dreaded Poison Spit Spider to me. That sucker can spit up to ten feet away! Worse yet, the poison is deadly as hell. No known antidote or cure. If you're hit anywhere, you got about 30 seconds to compose the epitaph for your tombstone. A lot of tombstones around these parts just say "Oh Sh*t!" on 'em. The damn thing is, the only way to firmly establish its identity is to flip the spider over on its back to observe its navel. Poison Spit Spiders have bright blue navels. The funny things is, the only way a Poison Spit Spider can actually spit is when it's on its back.
