Springfield! Much better fit, much better quality, much better gun case haha. |
The xd-m isn't that much differnet than a normal xd. But it is cool! |
What kind of problems where you experiencing? I have never heard any negative feedback about XD's, nor have I experienced, therefore I'm interested in the problems you say the gun is having. Have you tried to contact Springfield? If not, maybe you should give them a call, they might have some answers. |

2 XD's here. Both in .45ACP. Both run flawlessly. I have taken one ATVing and gotten it covered in mud and gunk-Brushed it off and ran without a hitch It's all a matter of what you like. While both are outstanding weapons, I have never felt a Glock or HK that my hand liked. XD sure fit well though! |

I had about 700 rounds through my xd (5 inch tactical 9mm) when I took it too an advanced ccw class where we shot about 700 rds that day. It was outside with a little breeze so there was a little but not much dust moving. I had about 150 FTF, FTE, and a bunch of stovepipes. I tried 5 brands of factory ammo that day, the gun was cleaned and lubed before the class. The magazines were all factory xd mags 2 I took with me were brand new. After 500 rds I gave up and switched to another gun. The instructor and I looked over the gun and nothing was visibly wrong, and he told me in all of his classes very few xd's made it all the way through. My buddy was shooting a 4 inch .40 xd and it was one of the few that has made it through. I am glad I bought the gun though because it gave me alot of expierence and practice in clearing jams etc. My other expierence with springfield was with one of their socom 16's. I bought it new and took it out to shoot later that week. I was shooting Austrailian surplus IIRC. Half way through my third mag, it would not extract properly so I racked the bolt, it ejected and loaded a new round. I fired that round and it wouldn't eject the empty. As it turns out the bolt had come apart(all the inner parts). Luckily it had snowed and I was able to find the parts on the ground, spread all out. When I called springfield they did not act surprised in the least. (Thats what was really a shocker). I sent it back and they fixed it and sent it back to me in 2 weeks time, so that end of the deal was great. So that's my expierence with Springfield. Good Customer Service for sure. |
I prefer a gun that has spares readily available, try finding an extractor for your XD. |
I agree. I have heard of guys having absolutely no problems with their xd's, and then guys like me who have nothing but trouble. I guess like stated below xd's are hit or miss. |
