Already owning an XD9SC, I knew I would like the .45 compact. I'm 6'3", 270, so the thicker slide and grip doesn't bother me. It feels lighter on my hip than my full sized 1911, and carries 2 more rounds with the compact mag. With the spare full sized mag, I have as many rounds as I had with the full sized 1911 and two spare mags. If you're thinking about an XD, and you like the way it feels in your hand, I don't think you can go wrong. Unless there is something you don't like about Croatia. |

I carry a service model XD45 and don't have any concealment issues. I carry in shorts and a t-shirt quite a bit in the summer. I carried an XD9 service model before. I think it all in what holster you get and how you position it. I carry IWB in a Don Hume PCCH, which they don't seem to make anymore or at least its not listed on the website. |

I have large hands (according to the gloves at the hospital), and I can get my grip hand pinkie right above the compact mag floor plate in a comfortable grip. I've shot 24 rounds through it, and it felt great for a double stack magazine frame gun, not huge like you think a high cap .45 would be. I get the feeling I'm gonna have this one for a long time. |
