Anybody know the current turnaround is? Gun shop told me 8 months

I just got one in 5 months.  Does the gun shop in question have the item in stock, or do they have to order it in?  That will greatly affect the time.

I purchased in stock goods.  A factory  SBR lower and a suppressor on July 30, 2015.  The stamps arrived last Wednesday, February 18, 2016. It looks like almost 7 months.

Another option for wait times is nfatracker.com.

Current wait times are almost irrelevant as a predictor of what's coming.  The NFA Branch is getting slammed with applications, and we won't know the impact of that on wait times for a few months,

But, here is what came in last week or two:

Submitted 8/11/15, approved 1/14/16 (a few days over 5 months)
Submitted 9/1/15, approved 1/22/16 (4.75 months)
Submitted 9/9/15, approved 1/21/16 (4.5 months)
Submitted 9/17/15, approved 1/28/16 (4.5 months)
Submitted 9/28/15, approved 2/6/16 (4.25 months)

Generally saw a decreasing trend through September applications.  I somewhat expect October trends to be similar, but I anticipate an increase in wait time for applications sent in after November 2015, with a big spike coming after December and January applications.....

My last two were e-filed on 10/30 and approved 02/11. F1/trust. On the other hand I have a Form 3 that I've been waiting on for almost 2 months now.

If I was you, I'd be encouraged....my F1 was at the very end of October and I got my approval 10 days ago. My guess is: yours IS right around the corner...

If you ask the ATF they are still saying 5 months right now.

I personally keep an eye on NFAtracker.com for updates.

That sounds about right.  Sent 2 can F4's out on 8/31/15; forms came back on 02/11/16.  Just got a call today for my SBR's F4's that I sent out mid Sept. '15.

guess eForms made things just too easy, you cannot be allowed to have these toys too quickly.

In my experience there is no correlation between what ATF call center people are saying and actual processing times. They have an official "estimate" that their boss tells them to give out but it's a total guess mainly designed to get you off the phone as rapidly as possible. The 'wait time' threads in the armory of arfcom, silencershop, and NFA tracker are far and away the best resources.

I just had a customer get his stamp a few days ago for a SBR. It took just over 5 months. But then that doesn't really say much for one submitted today. I'm guessing more like 6 ish.

Bought a can through Silencer shop it was 5 1/2 months to get my stamp and can in my hands a few days ago.

I am having a MP5 clone SBRed and told to think in the time frame of 9-12 months, everybody went nuts on cans and Form 1's now the ATF is flooded with paperwork
