What are some good sources for steel in the Memphis area? I need plate, round and square tubing.

I would prefer scrap, and if they could cut it to length, so much the better.

I'm going to build one of those M63 variation tripods, with a seat.

I would call a few of the big machine shops in town and ask what they do with their scrap steel.

You might be able to pick up some cheap from them, or they could tell you which salvage company buys their scrap.

Yeah, that's my backup plan unless somebody comes up with a particular business.

BTW, I forget, does JeepCreep have a bandsaw?

American Metal Sales in Southaven is where I get most of my new steel. Having the supplier cut it is a big waste of money though. What exactly do you need? Mail me at [email protected]
