So, I just got a TLR-1. I have a TLR-2 to compare the problem I'm having, still can't fix though.

The battery door has come clean off. If any of you have one of these, I imagine there's a simple solution as they do sell replacement doors. I just cannot for the life of me figure this one out. I cannot get the little metal tab back under the piece so when you lock, it pulls the battery door. Every time I try to fit it under there, it's stretches the metal piece.

Kind of confusing, I know, did my best on explanation... Let me know if you can help. Thanks.

Some of them are tight when new. Do you have a second unit to look at to make sure you're not doing something wrong?

The TLR1s have been going downhill in quality over the last 5 years. The one I bought 5 years ago is much higher quality than the one I bought 2 years ago.

You are looking from the top. Back of the light at bottom of picture, light at the top (not viewable).
On the left you will see the TLR-2 assembled. On the right is the "broken" TLR-1. The hanging latch that should fit under the silver piece.

looks right to me, but you'll probably have to drive that pin all the way out to get it back in place, going in the same direction that it's already started. from right to left.

I've had the problem before and the solution was to make sure that the cap was 100% seated. It's a bitch sometimes.

No luck. Tried that the first time. <––- was referring to picture post.

I tried pushing the pin out but they have raised notches on each side to prevent.

What do you mean cap seated?

If you look close, the little raised "tab" on the left side is shorter than the one on the right side, made that way so the pin can be removed on that side, just find something to slightly pry up on the pin as you push it to the left and it'll slide over the left side tab.

Ya. Used a small flat head to raise and tried pushing with paper clip. Guess I will try that again.

No problem, glad you got it..I have a bad habit of taking things apart for no good reason just for the heck of it, and a bad habit of making a warranty void within the first hour of getting it home.
