Ok, most of you won't care but for me it is kinda kewl.
I have a couple of Star Model A Supers in 9mm largo caliber. It is hard to find ammo for them but brass is available mail order. Well, after a lot of research I decided to set the barrel up on a lathe a trim just a few thousandths off the barrel tang. it worked. I can now use 38 super brass and even fire factory 38 ACP ammo right along with the original 9mm largo stuff.
Here is the list of brass I can use in it;
9mm largo
38 ACP
38 Super
38 super auto comp
9x23
9mm bergman (Never seen any of this but it should work)

The factory ammo i can use is;
9mm largo
38 ACP
Might be a couple more but I have a lot more research to do on this. If you want to know how this works, well, the case can now headspace on either the case mouth or the rim, weird but it does work that way (For more factory weirdness look up the Astra 400 and it's multi caliber chamberings)
All in all this is a fun experiment. These pistols are cheap enough and still well made. Accuracy is pretty good too. Power level is at least 20% over 9mm luger (max loadings) HOWEVER!!!!

Do not think about firing factory 38 super or (god forbid) 9x23 ammo. could blow your gun to itty bitty bits and end up dead (or even worse, as ugly as some of the guys who post here!)
I do not recommend doing this mod until you are comfortable doing your own amateur home gunsmithing and have a good knowledge of reloading especially as it concerns pressure levels.

Yes, this is the same one I learned how to gunkote on. I figured a bit of machine work wouldn't hurt the collectors value of it now.
