Anyone know any shops in the Kennesaw/Marietta area that sell either port or aussie surplus? Thanks.

Galyans usually has Port in stock.
I think they charge around $40.00/200 rounds.

I get mine from Aim Surplus or the Ammunition Store.  Cheaper that way.

How much ammo do you need?  If you ever want to split a case, I'd be willing to do that.

Unfortunetly I am only going to order 400 rounds right now.  I think I will just get some aussie from AIM. After shipping that should be pretty close to the galyans price.

What is this I hear about port running out?

If that is the case I am going to buy up some more.  So book if you want to order the same time maybe we could save shipping.

I don't bother with surplus.

Larry, are you serious?  You'd rather buy GA Arms .308 at $310 per 1000 instead of Port ammo at $140 per 1000?

BRF, there is still Port out there.  It WILL dry up.  Will it dry up in six months or six years?  Maybe six weeks?  Who knows?  I buy it a little at a time.  I just bought a case last week and could be talked into buying another case or so, but I'll need to wait about two weeks if that's okay.

Book that is fine.  I still have a few hundred rounds.  When you want to order some let me know.

I few hundred?

When I get down to a few thousand I FREAK OUT and burn up the charge card.  When I die, Mrs. Bookhound is gonna have a LOT of ammo for sale.  (Just don't make the mistake of thinking she'll sell it cheap.  )

I would love a few thousand but you know my situation.  I really don't need to spend too much on ammo.  But I haven't got any in like 6 months so I want to buy a couple thousand.

Yep, I know what I am getting and know that it will work.  I feel that surplus is surplus for a reason.

I had problems with surplus in my Garand.  It did not produce enough gas and some of the cases swelled to the point of not being able to extract.

Larry your problem was not the ammo. It was he Garand.  I tell you what you should just get rid of that gun to some sucker for 100.  I will be that sucker.
