Long while back I had a TCGC membership but never really used it for more than the indoor 22 range and the 200-300yard range.

Now this whole speed steel, Tactical, and 3gun has peeked my interest again. To participate does it require a TCGC membership? Kinda want to try before i buy.

Also the 600yard range was built after my membership lapsed and looks like it would be a good challenge for my 700 VSS.

you don't have to be a TCGC member to participate in the matches. Some matches do have their own certification/safety requirements, however, like IPSC and Practical Rifle.

Come out and shoot (not that I've been there in a while), don't need to be a member (ETA) to shoot the matches mentioned.

I think you either have to be a member to use the 600 yard range or be in a competition.

Yup. I believe newcomers need a member to sponsor them in their first shoot. Correct me if I am wrong.

I did receive one. They even posted it for 2-3 months in their newsletter delivered by mail and e-mail telling you to make sure you renewed.
