| Trapper is good to go. Also Billy Dale does all the bolt gun work from there. Billy is a well known 1000 yd. shooter and builds a very nice rifle. I have had him cut and chamber two rifles to .223 AI for me plus thread for a suppressor. Both jobs turned ot great and I would highhly recommend his work. |
| Trapper has done all my guns. Built me 2 custom 1911's 1 semi custom, worked my ar15, m1a, bolt gun and shotgun. Sometimes you have to bring things back but he works it till he gets it right. prices are ok considering it is all custom work. turnaround is faster than sending it away to any of the much more expensive or well know gunsmiths. |
| I'm down in Roanoke and Trapper is a friend of my gunsmith here, and the moment I mentioned my interest in ARs my smith hooked me up with Trapper's phone number before he even told me what the number was for. I have yet to have him do any work for me, but my smith is good at what he does, so for him to refer me to Trapper I can only expect quality work. |

I know 1 guy that had a DCM rifle built by him that was great, real shooter. I know another guy that had one built that was a dog and they did not make it right.
I bought a complete rifle from him during the 94 ban that was supposed to be pre ban and turned out not to be. It sounded like DPMS sold him stripped lowers as "pre ban" and later decided that they were not, so he said. I did not appreciate the deal because he knew about the matter before I came to him with it and did not attempt to contact me or the others who were in the same boat. I was told I was not the first to come to them with that issue. Personally I won't deal with them again, but YMMV. If you do get them or anyone to do work get a written work order for what you want them to do, specifying parts by manufacturer, etc. The guy who got the "dog" rifle said he wanted a DCM rifle set up with a 1:7" match barrel and a jewel trigger. Paid accordingly. When he picked it up, he got a Colt HBAR barrel (1:7") and a TTI "tuned" trigger. The Colt barrel did not deliver what he considered to be match accuracy and I would not expect it too either and if you paid for a $150 trigger, it is BS to get a "tuned" $50 trigger. If all you want is a trigger job, buy a good trigger and install it yourself, if you can field strip an AR, you can install a match trigger. |

Trapper's a good guy.
He's built one for me and I've shot many of his builds. He is although a Riflesmith. He is improving in his pistol work from what I hear but his rifle work is real good. My 16'' 1:12 surplus colt barrel w/ a floated hand guard shoots sub MOA w/ any 55gr pill I put in it. |
